New Fenton & Linden Business Summit Brings High-Value Professional Development to Local Business Community

FENTON, MI — The Fenton & Linden Regional Chamber of Commerce is bringing a new professional development experience to the local business community this fall with the inaugural Fenton & Linden Business Summit: Professional Development, taking place Wednesday, September 16, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Fenton Community & Cultural Center.

Designed for professionals at all levels and across industries, the Business Summit was created to give local professionals access to meaningful professional development, experienced speakers and valuable networking—all within a single half-day experience.

“We wanted to create something that felt different from a typical Chamber event,” said Meghan Grimshaw, Executive Director of the Fenton & Linden Regional Chamber of Commerce. “Professional development is an important investment for both individuals and businesses, but it can be difficult to find high-quality opportunities that are accessible, local and affordable. We wanted to bring that experience here.”

A Morning Designed for Learning, Connection and Growth

The Business Summit will bring together a diverse lineup of speakers and local professionals, giving attendees the opportunity to learn from experts while connecting with others in the regional business community.

The morning will begin with a keynote presentation from Tony Rubleski, bestselling author of the Mind Capture book series, founder of Mind Capture Group and a TEDx speaker. His presentation, “How to Positively Disrupt Your Mindset and Career,” will challenge attendees to think differently about their mindset, career and ability to create meaningful connections in an increasingly distracted world.

Following the keynote, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in two breakout session blocks, choosing from three topics:

• Leadership in Action: What Effective Leaders Do Differently — presented by Desi Mayner, Leadership Coach/Consultant with Mayner Leadership Inc.
• Marketing that Connects: Reaching Today’s Customer — presented by Corey Gehrold of Boost Creative & Insight Marketing Group
• Leading Through AI: Opportunities, Risks, and Cybersecurity — presented by Michael Griggs

The Summit will also feature a panel discussion, “Building Culture that Drives Performance,” bringing together four local business leaders to share their experiences, perspectives and lessons learned in creating positive workplace cultures.

The formal programming will wrap up with lunch and networking, giving attendees additional time to continue conversations and build connections made throughout the morning.

Professional Development Without the Conference Price Tag

The Chamber designed the Business Summit to provide a high-value professional development experience while keeping registration accessible to businesses of all sizes.

Registration is $75 for Chamber members and $125 for non-members, with breakfast and lunch included.

“Whether someone is an emerging professional, a manager, a business owner or an experienced leader, there is something in this Summit designed to help them grow,” said Grimshaw. “We hope businesses will see this as an opportunity to invest in their people and send employees to experience the day together.”

The Chamber is also encouraging professionals to attend individually or businesses to send multiple members of their team.

Beyond the speakers and sessions, the Chamber hopes the Business Summit will create an environment where professionals can step away from their normal routines, make new connections and return to work with ideas they can put into action.

“It’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day,” said Grimshaw. “Sometimes you need to step away for a few hours, hear a new perspective, meet someone new and give yourself the opportunity to think differently. That’s what we’re hoping this day provides.”

The inaugural Business Summit is made possible with the support of local business partners who have invested in bringing this new professional development experience to the community.
