New 2.2-Mile ChoiceOne Bank Trail Connecting Linden and Fenton to Officially Open September 29

The new 2.2-mile pathway runs from Triangle Park in the City of Linden to the corner of Jennings Road and Silver Lake Road in Fenton, creating a new non-motorized connection through the City of Linden, Fenton Township and City of Fenton.
The ChoiceOne Bank Trail is also part of Genesee County’s new Legacy Trails network, a countywide initiative designed to create more than 200 miles of connected trails throughout Flint and Genesee County. The network is intended to connect residents to communities and essential destinations including parks, schools, grocery stores and libraries.
Genesee County’s five-year strategic trails plan establishes a unified vision for a safe, connected and accessible non-motorized network across the county. Once completed, the Legacy Trails network is expected to put more than 180,000 residents within one mile of a non-motorized trail while connecting 23 Genesee County communities, two state parks, 151 other parks and 89 schools.
The opening of the ChoiceOne Bank Trail represents an important step toward that larger vision while creating an immediate recreational connection for residents of the Fenton and Linden communities.
“We are incredibly excited to celebrate the opening of the ChoiceOne Bank Trail with the community,” said Ron Stack, Chairman of the LAFF Pathways, a group who initiated this trail project. “This trail is not only a new place to walk, run and bike—it connects our communities and contributes to a much larger vision for a connected trail network throughout Genesee County.”
Following the ribbon cutting, attendees are encouraged to experience the new pathway firsthand. Bring your tennis shoes, bike or rollerblades and be among the first to walk or ride the new ChoiceOne Bank Trail.
