PFCU CREDIT UNION HONORS VETERANS DAY THROUGH PROPER FLAG RETIREMENT

Mid-Michigan - In recognition of Veterans Day, a time to honor and reflect on the sacrifices made by our military men and women, PFCU also recognizes the importance of showing respect for the symbols that represent our nation, including the American Flag. In this spirt, PFCU supports and encourages proper disposal of an American flag. Over the course of 2024 PFCU has collected and donated over 250 American Flags for proper retirement in coordination with local veteran organizations.

When an American flag becomes frayed, torn, or otherwise no longer suitable for display, it is essential to retire it with honor. There are different ways to do this, including a formal flag burning ceremony performed by authorized groups. Many local VFWs, American Legion posts and other veterans group organize flag retirement ceremonies – these organizations often accept worn flags for disposal and will retire them appropriately. PFCU Credit Union has flag collection boxes at each of their branches and will accept worn flags to be delivered to local veteran groups for proper retirement.
