Event Description:
The Fenton Community Orchestra, a full symphonic orchestra, and its partner group for adult novice musicians, Simply Strings, continue their 16th season with Spring Concerts on April 17 (7:00 pm) and April 18 (2:00 pm) at Fenton High School. Renowned composer and conductor Andrew David Perkins will lead the FCO through music from Wicked, Beethoven's 7th Symphony, Lakmé by Lèo Delibes, Brahms' Variations on a Theme by Haydn, Tchaikovsky's 6th Symphony and American Landscape by Soon Hee Newbold. Simply Strings will contribute Elgar's Nimrod, Jupiter from Holst's The Planets, Libertango by Astor Piazzola, Fucik's famous Entry of the Gladiators, and Celtic Impressions by Rosenhaus. While admission is FREE, donations are gratefully accepted to help us fulfill our mission of bringing orchestral music to the Greater Fenton area. Fenton High School is an accessible facility. This program is sponsored by the Greater Flint Arts Council Share Art Genesee Grant Program made possible by the Genesee County Arts Education and Cultural Enrichment Millage funds.
