GOVERNANCE COMMITTEE
2nd Thursday of the month at 8:30 am; Chamber Building

Co-Chairperson: Linda Hathaway, Brad Hoffman Insurance Agency
The Governance Committee meets monthly and is responsible for ongoing review and recommendations to enhance the quality and future viability of the Board as it relates to the Chamber's Bylaws. The Committee's focus revolves around the following five areas: Board Role and Responsibilities, Board Composition, Board Knowledge, Board Effectiveness, and Board Leadership. This Committee also selects the Award Recipients for the Annual Chamber Celebration. The Committee organizes and conducts an Annual Meet the Candidates event for Fenton and/or Linden City Council every other year. Meet the Candidates is held for the State Representative Race every other year. Invited candidates answer questions that relate to or affect the business climate. The Committee refers back to experience and voting records/notes when scoring Candidates and adheres to the Chamber's endorsement policy. They also organize and conduct annually a Forecast Breakfast Event in January. At the event, invited representatives from local and surrounding municipalities speak on projects and issues that affect business in their area.
