The 9-1-1 Communications Center is central dispatch for 31 communities, 26 police agencies, 19 fire departments, and 4 emergency medical ambulance services across Genesee County. Each year we direct almost half a million 911 emergency calls – 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We are seeking qualified, highly motivated telecommunicators for its 911 team. What is a telecommunicator? A telecommunicator is a call taker and a dispatcher that handles incoming emergencies from 911 callers and from field personnel, police, fire and EMS. Don’t worry if you come without experience. We have a sophisticated training process that takes 4-6 months to complete.
